The concierge service with Alyssa plus the floating naval ring in a custom length and curvature saved my piercing. I had no issues with my piercing for about 10 years when I was younger, but after taking it out a few years ago, and then getting it put back in eight months ago, I’ve had nothing but serious irritation. I originally wanted a small hoop and the (professional, Seattle) piercing shop I went to agreed it would work, but the ring didn’t fit well and put pressure on the piercing and constantly irritated it. I finally went to another shop and got a barbell, but this ended up being too short (the next size up was way too long) and also put pressure on the piercing while sinking the balls into the opening. I went back to the first shop and got a third piece of jewelry which also didn’t fit relative to the curvature. These are nice, professional shops, yet none of them could offer a piece of jewelry that fit me correctly. Somehow, OVER TEXT, in about 20 minutes, Alyssa was able to figure out that I needed a slightly longer bar, less curvature at the base, and a floating ring so that the bottom ball did not push into my piercing when I bent over or wore tight clothes. I had completely given up on and removed my piercing by the time the jewelry arrived, as it had been chronically irritated for six months and was in really bad shape. However, I gave it one last try with the floating naval ring and so far, it’s been three weeks and I’ve had no issues. It’s still calming down from half a year of trauma, but I think this piece will work and it’s the jewelry that has. It seems counterintuitive to buy jewelry online, but somehow this was the only piece that fit. Also, while this jewelry isn’t cheap, it’s no more expensive (or even less) than gold jewelry in a shop. I don’t think I’ll ever buy from anywhere else again, as I now realize how most standard barbells are way too long. This jewelry is always beautifully sparkly and good quality, and looks nicer than the classic steel barbell gems. I’m hoping that once it calms down, I can try some other pieces from Jolie, but the floating option works really well with my daily running/biking/gym activities and clothing. Alyssa really knows what she’s doing.
